Let’s Talk About You
Dec 04, 2024Hi, I’m Jeff
If you’ve landed here, I’m guessing you’ve had at least one of these thoughts recently:
- “Am I the only one wondering if there’s a way to age better than some of the people I see struggling with simple day-to-day activities?”
- “Do I really have to punish myself with workouts to feel strong again?”
- “Is it too late to get back on track?”
Spoiler: It’s not too late. And no, punishing yourself isn’t the answer. But let’s back up for a second because this isn’t about me swooping in with a cape and yelling, “I can save you!” This is about you—and how to finally create a way to move and live that works for you.
You’re Not Alone (Really, You’re Not)
Maybe you’ve tried every workout program that promised to “fix” you. Maybe you’ve started and stopped so many times that the phrase “back at it” feels like its own workout move. I see you. And I get it.
Not today, but soon, I’m going to share some of the obstacles, feelings, and outcomes of my journey over the past five years and what I’ve changed.
Here’s the thing: most fitness advice is written for people who have the time and energy. (Aka, not you.) You’re busy juggling work, family, the existential dread of what the world’s coming to, and the occasional moment where you just want to sit down without being told to “engage your core.”
But deep down, you still want more. Not more stuff—more life. You want to feel strong, move with ease, and stay independent so you can do the things you love. Whether that’s playing with your grandkids, hiking in Tuscany, or just being able to carry your own groceries without breaking a sweat.
The Truth About Fitness in Your 50s and Beyond
Let’s address the elephant in the room. (Or maybe the one sitting on your motivation.) A lot of fitness programs assume you’re either:
- Training for the Olympics.
- Accept slogging through workouts that feel like punishment.
Neither is sustainable—or necessary. You’re not here to prove something to a CrossFit coach or Instagram influencer. You’re here to build a life that feels good and supports you long-term.
What if I told you that strength, energy, and mobility don’t come from chasing PRs or perfection? They come from finding a rhythm that fits you—your life, your body, your goals.
How I Can Help (Without the Hype)
Let’s get real: I’m not here to sell you a one-size-fits-all fitness plan. I’m here to help you create a physical practice—a way of moving that’s as much about your mind as it is your body.
I focus on three things:
- Strength: Building muscle and resilience so you can age like a fine wine (or a sturdy oak, whichever you prefer).
- Sustainability: No burnout. No insane routines. Just movement that fits into your life.
- Longevity: Because this isn’t just about six-pack abs. It’s about staying independent, active, and confident for decades to come. Don’t worry; you can still get the six-pack, and other aesthetic goals as they now become byproducts of the practice.
But this isn’t just about what I teach—it’s about why. I’ve coached people who’ve been on and off the fitness hamster wheel their whole lives, and they’re over it. They don’t want more gimmicks or quick fixes. They want something real, something that works. Something that lasts.
What Does That Look Like?
Picture this:
- A physical practice that fits into your life (it doesn’t suck) and will help you live stronger, longer.
- Movements that actually make you feel better—not like you need a nap and a heating pad.
- Progress without crushing your body every workout.
And here’s the kicker: it’s not just about the workouts. It’s about understanding your body, giving yourself grace, and finding the right dose of effort so you can keep going without fizzling out.
This Isn’t About Starting Over—It’s About Starting Smarter
You don’t need to be perfect. You don’t need to overhaul your life. You just need a way that works for you—and a coach who gets it.
That’s where I come in—not as someone with all the answers, but as someone who knows how to ask the right questions. Together, we will figure out what works for you and help you develop a physical practice so you can live stronger, longer.
